language is an illusion.


we live mostly in our minds.


the pancakes sizzle on the griddle.

i pour your coffee, and it is bitter.


our skin starts to sag much too soon.



take me back into your womb.

and let me remember

in the next life

so that i may live forever.



Rebecca Cristante is an Atlanta based visual artist, writer, and scholar who has spent much of her career replanting the deforests of her childhood. She is currently furthering her studies in Environmental Science at Georgia State University.
